I have a lot of stuffs to blog about!!
One by one.....
Was listening to
Benny and
Corina's conversation in the pantry the other day during lunch.
I think they were chatting about relationships and stuffs, then Benny asked about how Corina and her husband met or sth.
When I joined in, she was just starting on the story.
Well, the story isnt the impt thing here... What's impt is, the morals behind the story..
Haha~
Corina is a person who has principles.. as in, she really stick by her principles in life.
So since she was a young lady, she told herself she would
never befriend a guy in clubs/pubs,
never marry a non-singaporean,
never marry someone more than 10years older than she is etc.
Well, she stuck by those rules. Whoever approached her, she would directly tell them to get lost. As in, really
GET LOST!
But she met this really cute guy in the pub, the first one, probably, that she befriended, despite her principles. Well, they had a great chat when they met and then they started talking on the phone like, everyday??? from
10pm to 6am and then the guy would leave for work str8 away. Like, WOW!! I was freaking amazed man!!! Me and Benny were like, HUH? What's there to talk abt???
LoL. Corina was like, A lot! Alot to talk abt!
*scratched head*But she said after dunno how long, there was nth much to talk abt anymore, they practically finished their entire life story man! And they knew almost everything abt each other.
After couple of years of dating... Yeah.. They got married!
So in the first place, she broke her
first principle - Befriend a guy she met in the pub, and they even got married!
Then she went on to break the
2nd one - That fella is NOT a singaporean.
Then the
3rd one - That fella is 11years older than she is.
WAHAHAHHA!!
Moral #1Never say Never.
Nothing is impossible. Impossible is nothing!
I remember someone said she would never date girls, but.... haha
I remember someone said she would never smoke, but... Well...
I remember someone said she would never fall in love with that fella...
*ahem*Yeah.. lol.
Never say never.
So their marriage life went on.
Still a young woman, she thought she did not want to have kids yet. You know, just wait for some time and see how the future goes. She has a career, still young and married for not long. So she actually still has time, logically...
Dang!
She's pregnant!
Now she has 3 kids~~ Wohhhhhhhhhhhh
Moral #2Time waits for no man. Waiting does not ensure things will definitely turn out better.
She said sth like, you'll never know what's gonna happen the nxt moment, why waste time? You gotta be responsible for your own time! Unless you're really sure you're gonna die like,
real soon, then maybe you can be irresponsible and....... just go and
die....!!!
Anyway, she said she's glad she didnt wait for too long. Like, wait for the right guy, wait for the right moment to get married, wait for the right time to have kids. Waiting doesnt mean your decision will be better. You know, you waste your time waiting, how sure are you that the ending is gonna be happier?
Case Study.
You're dating someone, and you're not sure if you should really get together.
You have 2 choices:
Take a month's time and get on with a new life together!!ORTake a year to slowly decide and see whether you and your potential partner really are suitable for each other.Which one would you choose???
I'll definitely choose the
former.
The old me would choose the latter for sure. No doubt.
But what Corina said really makes sense.
I take a year to test water, we'll lose the passion, shorter patience and lower tolerance. I myself admit it does not mean things will last longer and be better if I test water for a year. I hate to drag things, seriously.
Say I take a month, I love it, why not? Unsuitable? Go our separate ways... No problem. At least no time wasted, I can go on and not regret wasting my own time. Come to think of it, I seriously feel that I wasted a lot of precious time, effort and chances man.... Well, no worries, move on!
(but that doesnt mean you should make decisions on impulse. Considerations still apply!)And so~ Things went really well for them. Benny was like, how did the 2 of you remain so good?
So she went on saying, because they tell each other everything!
Like, pratically everything!
Their common rule for the marriage is, say everything - they'd rather hear from each other's own mouth, than to hear it from others. So they really know everything and if anyone ever says sth abt the other half, and they would disregard it.
This... is what I call
Trust and
Honesty.
How envy.
Moral #3Trust and honesty is a powerful tool to keep hearts close.
I know it's never too late to learn this, though you can say it's abit late..
(ermmm... Anyway...) This is probably the best thing that I've learnt from the conversation. I will keep that in mind.
Of course there are different view points here, pros and cons to everything. But just my 2 cents worth... =>
End of my preaching!!Let pictures tell you what's been happening recently... heh
